Reflecting back on 2006, MAIT had some very good results, including an incredible overall accuracy of 58.9% in the English Premier League (which is extremely high considering the prevalence of draws) and a very pleasing 69.1% (plus four draws) in the first season of the expanded Super 14 Rugby competition (which included a run of 18 consecutive games without an incorrect tip).
The first feature we've added in 2007 is the MAIT Sports Blog, which has been subtitled "As We See It". We intend to add various views to this as the year goes on, including season previews for each of the leagues that MAIT is tipping.
Another feature which we're looking to add is prediction of the margins for matches (as well as the winner obviously) later this year. The NRL competition looks like the ideal test bed for our algorithms, so hopefully that will kick in at some stage during the year.
Horse Racing (in the form of the "StableMAIT" system) will again be part of the efforts being put in this year. The plan at the moment is to get a revised algorithm up and running live on the Irish and British racing scenes, as well as restarting the Australian version. The target for this will be the second half of 2007.
If you'd like to be kept up to date with developments then email Alan to be added to the MAIT emailing list.
